It Started As The Worst Birthday Present Ever

Greg here. I have run some sort of business or another since 2013. I like running businesses, and incorrectly assumed that everyone else likes running businesses as well.


So in 2019, I bought Erica a business to run.
 

For her birthday present.
 

(Gents, don’t do this. There was no need for an NFP tracker the rest of that year.)
 

That business was (and still is) called The Little Catholic Box.
 

Back then, it was a curated subscription box. 
 

A bunch of other people’s stuff, but in a box.

 

But Turned into a Real Gift

Fast forward to 2024, we’d both had enough. 

 

Finding 5-7 new and unique items every 90 days for 5 years straight takes its toll.

 

In December 2024 we cancelled all our box subscriptions and began to liquidate the remaining inventory, intending to close up shop for good.

 

But then, something unexpected happened.

 

We said, “what if instead of featuring other people’s stuff, we made our own stuff?”

What if we made Catholic merch that actually... “slapped,” as the kids say? 

 

Eye-catching, slightly unhinged, but still reverent?

 

What if we made stuff that:

  1. You'd actually WANT to stick on your Stanley cup
  2. Would make your non-Catholic friends ask "what is that?" with this face 🤔 instead of this one 😬
  3. Could start conversations that led to conversions

And what if instead of hiding from or complaining about modern culture, we subverted it?
