As spring turns to summer, I am excited to finally share this idea with you that I’ve had for over a year.
Perhaps you are familiar with a Mary garden? It is a small garden including plants that are named for or associated with Mary.
The space also traditionally includes a statue or image of Mary. I know that not everyone can grow a garden, due to lack of space or lack of time.
So for this box, I wanted to create an easy version of a Mary garden that could be brought indoors so that anyone could enjoy it.
Little Flower Bud Vase by Annunciation Designs
Our friend Elayne created these vases featuring a quote from our patroness,
St. Therese of Lisieux. “If a little flower could speak, it would tell us all that God has done for it.”
I hope this little vase can be a reminder for us all of the gratitude and faith demonstrated by our favorite Little Flower.
Wooden Miraculous Medal Mary by Rough 2 Rustic
Designed and created by Michelle at Rough 2 Rustic, this wooden Mary statue serves as the focal point of the indoor Mary garden.
You can paint it, stain it, or leave it unfinished depending on your preference.
We love this unique alternative to a traditional ceramic or stone statue.
Marian Floral Bandana by Little Way Design Co
Katerina, the designer behind Little Way Design Co, wanted to surround her family with “images that remind us who we are, where we came from, where we want to go (heaven), and what we need to do to get there.”
That desire was the genesis of her brand and all of the beautiful things she creates.
The design she has shared with us on these bandanas is an exclusive partnership with The Little Catholic Box, and we are honored to share these with you!
Mary Garden Tea Towel by Pen and Paint
This flour sack kitchen towel featuring hand drawn artwork is meant to brighten your space!
Lindsay, the creator behind Pen and Paint, strives to share cheerful, “pretty things.”
When you see her work, I think you’ll agree that she does a great job.
The design on this towel is a representation of all the flowers
traditionally planted in a Mary garden, and Lindsay created this design specifically for our box.
Wildflower Cut Flower Mix by St. Clare Heirloom Seeds
We were thrilled to find a Catholic heirloom seed company to help us with this box!
St. Clare Heirloom Seeds offers a large assortment of flower and vegetable seeds. If you regularly garden, please check them out.
The wildflower mix included in your box contains 200 assorted seeds. Plant them outdoors when the soil has warmed to 65F - 70F. They should grow well in all climates.
As they blossom, you will be able to cut an assortment to place in your Little Flower Bud Vase throughout the growing season.
